Natalie is a piano, choral singing and speech & drama teacher based in Northfield SA, with over 25 years of teaching experience commencing from a young age. Natalie’s musical journey began with the piano. She went on to complete the grade examinations in Music, both practical and theory, through ABRSM and Trinity College London (TCL) and worked through the Performers Certificate in Music and ATCL thereafter. She also studied Speech & Drama through Trinity College London. Apart from her studies of music, speech and drama, Natalie is also a qualified Chartered Secretary through the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators London, and holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Coming from a family of musicians, Natalie has been exposed to a variety of musical genres and choral groups which have enhanced her ability to experience, appreciate, and teach. In her home country Sri Lanka, Natalie became the church organist and taught music in schools while also conducting private lessons. She has trained school choirs for annual competitions and Christmas programmes and has been part of choral groups herself. She has also performed in speech and drama competitions and has participated in many onstage performances.
Additionally, she is also a founder member of the Workshop Players in Colombo. It was within this vibrant theatrical community that she first got the opportunity to perform publicly on stage. This experience served as a launching pad for her theatrical endeavors, leading her to the grand stage of productions like "Les Misérables." All these educational experiences ultimately provided her with the foundation and expertise to share the magic of the arts with the next generation.

About Robins Academy
Upon moving to Australia, Natalie Robins founded Robins Music Academy, now known as Robins Academy, a school encompassing all areas of music and the performing arts. In 2024 she formed the South Australian Children’s Choir which also comes under the umbrella of Robins Academy. Aside from this, Natalie is a volunteer organist and choir leader in the church she attends. She also accompanies students on piano for AMEB music examinations.
Natalie is truly passionate about what she does. For her, teaching is not merely a profession, it’s a calling that allows her to bring music & the arts into the hearts of all age groups, and for this she is truly grateful to God. It is this passion that drives her to be a better teacher each day. Natalie has the gift of playing by ear which is an advantage and something she absolutely enjoys. She is capable of spontaneously entertaining any age group with music and song on any occasion.
About Robins Academy
Natalie strives to nurture such abilities in her students and encourages them to discover, create and embrace music and the arts in all its forms.
The reward she receives as a teacher is witnessing her students achieve learning milestones, watching them perform and rejoicing with them when they achieve success.
No matter what your musical or performing arts objective may be, Robins Academy can help you get there.
